About Us

Latrobe Props is a growing family farming business at Burra, South Australia, approximately two hours north of Adelaide, right on the Barrier Highway. Supported by a small and valued team, we run a mixed farming operation, with broadacre cropping at its core and livestock as part of the mix.

Farming runs in the family. John is a sixth-generation farmer, carrying on the legacy of his late grandparents, Murray and Stella Stockman of ‘Shafton’, Burra. Together with his wife Kerry and their children, Jack, Ella and Asha, he is writing the next chapter of the family’s story.

We care about the land and the community we farm in, and we’re proud to carry on what was started before us.
